Freight trains carry things instead of people. On these pages a diesel engine pulls a boxcar and a tank car, a long train of containers, a coal car and a hopper car, and a car full of logs. There is also a caboose at the end of a train, a train at a railroad crossing and an easy diesel engine for toddlers.

Coloring tips
- Give every freight car its own color, so the train looks long and busy.
- Color the coal black and the logs brown with light rings at the ends.
- Make the crossing lights red.
Ideas
- Color several pages, cut out the cars and tape them into one long train.
- Talk about what is inside each freight car.
