These cats are drawn with more detail than our cartoon cats: fur lines, tabby stripes, eyes with slit pupils and long whiskers. You will find a cat portrait, a tabby sitting upright, a cat lying down like a loaf, a cat tilting its head, a cat on a windowsill, two cats together and a kitten next to a ball.
They suit older kids and adults who like to add shading.
Coloring tips
- Color the fur in two shades: a darker one for the stripes and a lighter one in between.
- Leave a small white spot in each eye as a shine.
- Use short pencil strokes in the direction of the fur lines.
Ideas
- Color the cat like your own pet, or a cat you know.
- Try only grays and black for a pencil-drawing look.
